Really sad as this event has been in mine and MaltDrinker's calendar for many years and my 10k and half PBs were both set up there, albeit on the old courses! Hope their situation improves and it does go ahead next year. 🌲2024 Race Cancellation🌲 It is with regret that Speyside Trust has had to cancel the Aviemore Half Marathon and 10k events this year. We know how popular the races are with athletes, their families, and supporters but recent circumstances have left us with no responsible alternative. Challenges in maintaining our own volunteer base for the event means we could not be sure of organising a successful event in October 2024. We are confident of having everything in place for the 2025 event and plan to publish the event dates and details early in 2025 to assist with the athletes training and planning. Dvorak Apr 2024 9:50am, 3 Apr 2024 27,655 posts	Quote Pin Dvorak Has anyone done any of the Up And Running events? upandrunningevents.co.uk They are held (so far) in Glasgow parks, offering 5Ks, 10Ks and even a (very loopy) HM. Stating they are officially measured and chip timed. I first became aware of them when they had a 10K in Bellahouston Park the week after the Jimmy Irvine 10K (which I thought decidedly odd: it's in May this year.) They have results up, and from them seem to be attracting possibly a different set of runners (eg Bella 10K winner 37:02 and only two under 40 minutes). Not saying they're not legit, but after the Run Afan debacle, I'm a bit wary.
