Oh yeah because the 2 Nottingham teams Nottingham County and Nottsly Forest can't play at home together, Wycombe have ended up in the absolute nonsense playoff slot of Sunday 6.30pm ![]() Thanks a lot County. Though in fairness 8pm Saturday didn't scream great. |

Yep, saved me from similar though ![]() Though I remember having an uncle's 70th bday an hour or so away in 2009 or so, with a race the next day. Midnight return, pb the next day. Funny old game sometimes! It is usually a crap night's sleep pre race anyway isn't it. |

The negativity amongst Wycombe fans is unreal right now too. Pre-season we'd have snapped the hands off for a playoff spot. Having been top 2 for 80% of the season it feels a right let down. A mad season where despite the top 2, even being top for about 8 game weeks over insane spending Birmingham, it was clear our management didn't fancy our manager, despite him being a 20 year service ex player fan favourite, playing really good football, having brought really good players in. Sacked his head of recruitment, ushered him out (to Luton) and got an absolutely nobody coach in from Sunderland, who has turned us from top scorers in the country, into an utterly negative 14 goals in 17 games merchant team. Plus a ludicrous January transfer window, bringing in 2 random Danish players whom we broke our all time transfer record twice in a week for. The sum total of minutes the two have played in FOUR months is about 150minutes! Bought in a few others who have barely contributed anything too. Plus a goalie "upgrade" who has made some absolute howlers. The other keeper won one of the supporters player of the year award for his first half season work ![]() We've lost the 3 last games to the other 3 teams in the playoffs. Talk about dreadful for confidence 🤣. You couldn't make it up. Having lost 4-0 at home to Charlton who we now face. We even lost 2-1 at theirs under the old manager. So getting through this tie takes a real leap of utter blind faith 😘 |

Yes been a mad drop off hasn't it for Wycombe. I'm with you about MK Dons, let AFC Wimbledon hate them. All the self righteous crap that other fans come up with about them, some of them seem more passionate hating them rather than getting behind their own team. So boring. Good luck in the play offs both you and the Pies. Definitely be watching Brizzle City v Sheff utd tonight over the European matches 400/1500/400 relay leg last night at Eastern Masters. Dunno about times, 1500 was about 4.23. Wore the Dragonfly Elite2 - still not the wonder shoes advertised. 400's felt quite fast but could be anything between 60-65 |

While MK / Wimbledon was a mess that shouldn't have been allowed, nor should the Glazers being allowed to buy United using their future profits to pay the bill! But Man City being able to do what they did and it takes 15 years to bring it to trial, and they're still taking a year to work it out is surely the worst of the lot. Many prem supporters don't care, thinking it's good the "usuals" have been upset, forgetting that it permanently ties up one of the top 4 positions meaning their own club has less chance of making it. Nice reps though ![]() 6 & 4 for me. Still have a gentle round of tightnesses, but can get the tempos and reps off ok, so can't be that bad! Sometimes you feel these little things more on easy runs as you have more time thinking about stuff! |

Afternoon all. Have got a bit behind with the thread. But remember a very positive race from @Curly45 and more consistency over the shorter stuff from @LBAC Si. Sounds like you are getting there with the groin, @stevieg. Ended up with a surprisingly big 70M last week. Took 10s off the parkrun of a fortnight ago with 19:29 again on the hillier summer loop. A wedding on Sunday night so this Mondays hills were a more relaxed fair taking in the common. MLR 15M yesterday after work. Exact same distance, route, effort etc. But 10C cooler = 10s a mile faster. Quick turnaround for a Moose Fartlek early this morning. 5 x (3 steady (1), 1 hard (1)). Always gets tough surprisingly quickly. 6:27 for the steadies, dragged down by a fairly destroyed final rep. 5:56 for the fast - which is moving in the right direction. Only a couple of weeks before the 21 week @TippTop mega plan before Abo/York TBC. |

@Sorequads Never ending round of marathon training pleasure for you! Soliod week of training though Well said @stevieg Not many clubs are whiter than white. So the 400 was 63 and 1500 4.25 on Weds night. Bit meh, but windy. 16 x 400 last night off 70. Wore the Tak 8's rather than spikes. first 4 were 75,71,70,70 and of the remaining 12, about half at 70, the rest a mixture of 68's and 69's. Not too bad after the track Weds night. Nothing on this weekend, might do Wrest Pk with the training group then off to watch the kid do an 800 at the country champs at Bedford. |

The cycling sems to be settling down which may not a good sign. I always reckon when you make a big change to a training regime (maybe add in a lot of hills or a lot of speed work on the track) you get a honeymoon period of about 3 weeks when the muscles you haven't used for ages suddenly get used and they are relatively fresh. You then get a dip when those muscles start to feel fatigued and the training benefit hasn't yet kicked in. Once you come out that period you get on the slow road to improvement but it is an upward curve at least. |
