Coming over from Oxford on the coach for this - last official warm up race before Rome marathon two weeks after. Are there any good ale or craft pubs within walking distance from the finish? Would like to see a bit of the town before heading home. Cheers!

The race starts and finishes near the x-scape building which is a very modern area of central MK - so all the pubs in and around will be "new style" pubs (i don't frequent them myself so cant recommend any) but i am sure others will popup soon and point you in the right direction :-)

Geoff new
Weatherspoons in the Escape, good selection of Ales, No old style pubs in the city centre , best bet for Traditional style would be about 1 mile from the finish a little estate called Woolstones , 2 good Ale pubs called The Barge and Cross keys.

Had to check which one as i know there are at least 4 half's in MK this year (I know one of them is sold out as 2 local clubs each make up a 40% share of the field !!!)

There is tons and tons of parking all over the place as the venue is at the main shopping centre of central MK. It is all pay and display though.

The prices vary - the bays all have a coloured line in front of them as below:

Green = free
Orange = normal rate parking
Red = Premium rate parking (very expensive)

Basically the further away from the x-scape building (huge round wedge shaped building) or the main shopping centre you are the cheaper the parking. If you are lucky to find them, the free parking spaces are only a 5 minute (ish) walk from the start though.

oh yes :-)

And I gave false info above - for Orange read Purple. but the map they sent out shows the parking anyhow.

I am in too, despite the snow and a nasty ascent just before the finish I managed to equal my personal best there last year.I am taking a train from London in the morning, they are pretty frequent.
