Just how does anyone do freestyle swimming?? Tips needed

It worked .... up to a point. I'm still not a fantastic swimmer but I'm streets ahead of where I used to be. Awareness, that's what helped me.

I tried and tried and tried, I looked at coaching videos, I took advice from other swimmers, I took advice on here. Nothing made a difference. Then, after trying and trying for ages suddenly it clicked. It seems that all that effort hadn't been getting me nowhere but it hadn't quite got me to where I needed to be. And when it did it was like someone flicked a switch and it just happened. Of course, then I needed to practice more and I'm sure I'm still no great shakes but I can do a decent freestyle now. Stick with it, mate.
