Ptb - See 197 today in a 10k! An avg of 191 for that. Not sure what typical 10k should be of Max but that is around 96% of what I have set my max as. Must do a max test! I did think a couple of times when see 196 on mile 4 that I should maybe back off but did manage to keep pretty much the same pace (last mile was a little slower but did have a small hill)

It would be unusual to hit your max in a 10k (and you hit 197 late on) so I would guess its higher than 197

Lovely mixed surface long run yesterday. 18 miles, 7:30ish pace for 73%. Topped off a 77 mile week.
After weighing myself on Saturday I found I'd lost 4lbs in a week, and I've probably been a bit savage with my calorie deficit which I think led to the odd feeling trying to get going on Friday's sub LT. I made sure I was well fuelled for Sunday (but still a deficit - I've got some pounds to lose yet) and it made a huge difference. I'll be keeping an eye on that going forward.

Max over 193 doesn't matter for Hadd, use the same numbers as 193 at the end of the PDF.

DavieC looking at your struggle the other day to get to 80% I get something similar sometimes after about 9k of a long run especially when I am running before breakfast (ie in carb depleted state). - same pace but distinct drop in BPM from that point. I put it down to a shift in fuel mix from glycogen to fat (but really no idea). Itβs cetainly not so severe as bonking but there again it only on steady training runs. Also tiredness can lead to lower than normal BPM readings I believe (or higher!).

Certainly felt a bit "bonky" in retrospect TPH. Not had the issue since and I've been making an effort to eat a bit extra when I'm short of my target intake which is already a deficit.
Nice recovery run this evening. Knocking on the door of 8 flat for pace at 69.5%. If it hadn't been for that pesky uphill finish... I might have to move house to improve my average pace.

I saw a new max HR today, 0.68 miles into parkrun I hit 191. Just shot up for a bit then back to the 160s. Not sure if I should trust that as an actual max , or was it an HRM error ?
