More excited than nervous.
Finalising lists, checking batteries, charging watch.
Eating cold sweet potato to see if i want that.
Feels weird not running, 10k yesterday went well and feeling fresh.
Looking forward to a lunchtime jog tomorrow and Thursday.

Nerves? Not really, though slightly concerned that I haven't been walking right since Speyside. Physio tomorrow afternoon and some swimming should sort me right out though.... right? It may be a death march/hop for the second half.
Also purchased: pirate paraphernalia.

Fetch glossary strikes again...
Can you imagine what some poor bloody hiker is going to think coming across a bunch of drunken pirates in the middle of the woods on Saturday? Or anyone driving past on Friday night which might be worse!

Well done MikeR at UTMB, awesome.
M1nty - thanks for tip. Seriously, that is the most important thing. When (not if) I am reduced to a walk, hobble, stagger, to keep the heid and remember that 4mph or even 3mph is still worth doing, even if it's a death march for 2, 4 or 6 hours, I will keep moving. Top advice, thanks.
Looking forward to seeing everyone. 4.5 sleeps (I won't sleep proper Fri night nerves, and the Pirates will barely sleep either, I suspect!) G

Well I have no idea how this weekend is going to go. I had a horrible sinus/cough/cold take over me for an entire 7 days which is most unusual for me - I usually shake off colds within 48 hours. Today is the first day I've felt 100% since last Sunday, so I'm worried that post-cold fatigue will hit a few hours in. I went for a gentle run yesterday and felt very fatigued very quickly, but it was also in Milan and very hot so there were other negative factors at work there (including a bit of a hangover, lack of sleep and a case of the sads). But - it's a 12 hour race, so that means my goal is to keep moving for 12 hours even if it's walking. I'll pack extra warm kit just in case. Initially my goal was 60 miles but that may need to be negotiable. Even without the bug I don't feel particularly well trained (last long run was a month ago) and I'm a bit fat at the moment (as in, an extra stone fat).
After this race and associated recovery is done I'm going to strip it right back down to basics in prep for WHW 2015. Get my diet and weight under control, get my strength and conditioning sorted and restart a regular running regime which my life fits around, not the other way round.

good call miss.I am starting now as well for next yr. Good thing about Glenmore is that you're only ever 2 miles from support.
