Salty Dog
The second game that caught my eye was ptwice Vs Salty. Wild game which I thought ptwice was going to win about half way through but a tempting pawn turned the tide of the game just past half through. chess.com
Wild indeed! A stressful affair where it seems 3 rooks of the 4 four were lost simply to not looking for the opponent's checks!

I'm really pleased to have won my second game in the U1200 Fetchies go overseas match making it 1-1 for me. Interestingly chess.com marked my knight move as a blunder although it was key to the win, I suppose I just got lucky!

The knight sacrifice is a nice idea, but it prefers BxN and if opp recaptures pxB then Qh6 forces mate next move on g7.
It did give you a ! for your Bh6+ after the knight sac:)

We’ve had a challenge from the Sussex village of Uckfield.
Looking at their history, they get about 5-7 players in their matches, but ratings seem to be >1200 and up to 1800/1900.
Let’s see who turns up and if we can persuade some of our old Fetchaies to take part.

I'm available for some games 
There is a possibility of a miracle occurring and me making it into the next round of the chess.com comp, but that will be a while away if it happens (which is still quite unlikely). Mr Fantastic dropped a half point in his final run of wins so ended up level with me, and a very suspicious player who's played very slowly will possibly end up level with us both if he can be held to a point (total) in his last two games. However if he gets flagged for cheating then Mr Fantastic will get extra points and go through ahead of me. (Mr Suss timed out against me, while easily winning in one of the games.)

Uckfield say they will match our strength, but their admin did point out when I said we weren’t a strong club “well you seem to have a 1950 and a 1850’ on your roster already…”

Happy with the Channel Islands win and against current highest rating opponent who made a couple of errors late on which swung the game, I missed a few early checkmates as well. Revenge on return game perhaps 😳

There’s been some great battling against those Channel Islands with the deficit now just 7-8.
This could go down to the wire.
