I'm also interested to hear how you get on Mandymoo - It's in my mind that I need to learn how to do a proper front crawl and breathe (and even get my head underwater)

Hope you enjoy your swim coaching Mandy. I have ticked off all my exercise so far this week, but have a couple of sore hot spots on my left quad from weights training. Bit more than DOMS, but less than obviously injured. Will try to foam roll tonight (if it doesn't hurt too much). But am wondering what to plan for tomorrow's session. Plan says gym, but I don't want to aggravate further. I could look out an easy on the quads session or opt to do something else - swim, indoor cycle or outdoor run.

Friday morning gym session done! Did a bit of a mix up of treadmill intervals with some bodyweight exercises. Tried using the swiss ball for some options, but I'm still a bit nervous about putting weight through my right shoulder, so ended up just doing basic moves.

Mornin' all!
Wow it's going to be a beautiful day out there... I'm having a huge lie in today, am shattered
After the excitements of Dublin it was time for Rocky Horror show on Thursday night for the first time in our lives myself, my bestest friend (since 15yrs old) and two of her daughters went to the sing a long show in fancy dress... her hubby came but no fancy dress on him lol!!!
Thing about this "cans" is I'm feeling very conscious of my size, I've got the ugly fiend on my shoulder at the moment, he won't budge, I chose to dress up as Dr Frankenfurter in his green surgeon coat... ordering that was a right faff and at one point it wasn't going to arrive in time so I ordered a make do which was a 16/18 And you can guess... didn't fit... a bloody common all garden green cleaners long jacket! I almost cried and the ugly fiend cackled it's 'Orrible little lid off... well feck you fiend! The other gown arrived on the day of the show, so I made it after all.. at the sing a long they do a pre show audience prep thing so you know what to do with the prop bag they give you and just for a laugh, during this if you were dressed up you were asked up into stage.. one of my friends daughters really wanted to go up so she asked me if I'd go with her.. off we went
What's interesting about this for me is suddenly it was all ok... and funny. And no one looking at me like I look at me... she won a prize bless her her make up was amazing and she deserved it.. I got some cheers from the audience and then told to piss off with all the other losers! Very funny
Morale of the tail is - fight that fiend - go enjoy NOW - do something that takes your out of the comfort zone
I'm shattered today though... giving myself a very lazy day however my can goals are
- rest well, relax, chill - 3 mile run - haircut!
Hope your al, doing good
Scribbler hope your shoulder etc on the mend now
Must get a new notebook.. I've be one too lapse in that area

Morning all. I've not been doing very well on the can front recently but I'm slowly getting back to being more positive. I really need to get my head round getting rid of some weight and moving around more so I do have a new plan. Exercise during the week now is going to be limited (because of the short days) to a walk around the block (about 1.4 miles) at lunchtime on the days I'm in the office, a run on my daughter's treadmill once/week, 2 outside runs and couple of a long walks + whatever horse-riding I can do at weekends. Some of that is weather permitting, of course (I can't walk at lunchtime in the pouring rain and sit at my desk steaming all afternoon ;)) and I'm sure life will get in the way sometimes but that's the general plan.
I'm also re-joining the weightloss website which helped me to lose 3 stone about 12 years ago. I don't need to lose that much now but I'm hoping that it will give me renewed impetus and motivation.
So, this week I can: Keep my overall calorie intake for the week within limits Run at least twice Think positively

Sara woo. Thanks for sharing that
I think it's really important re-think a winter plan, and make it achievable with the dark nights here from tonight things do need a shake up
I'm planning run swim in the mornings, just going to be a bit boring running as it'll be dark so I'll have to stick to road routes
I think low week say distance, but build upto 3miles... then get going with a longer weekend run. I also need to concentrate on some of my swim bring front crawl.. I might invest in a nose clip soon see if that helps
What a bleuugghhh day it is here... this morning though means I can chill and then run around lunchtime
Yorky challenge began yesterday, that's mine and Nirtherns plan to return to half standard for next Septembers race.. I so missed doing it this year I'm determined to be there
I went and tried on some clothes yesterday, ugly fiend had full power so I walked away... full length mirrors not easy to be around
"Cans" - relax and unwind - see the rellies later today and catch up - run 5 miles

And thanks for this weeks challenge FRU
5 weeks since we returned from our holidays and 5 weeks of focus and journal keeping has resulted in more consistency in exercise, a lot less alcohol, better food habits and 10 1/2lbs off

Wow that's awesome northern! Way to go.
Weekly challenge is good for me too. Hitting 5 miles as a long run yesterday again was great
Family were down yesterday, as a treat I took mum & sis in law for afternoon tea at our posh venue in town.. was amazing. I didn't feel one zap of guilt as I'd bagged that 5 plus I found an outfit that o wear that quietened the ugly fiend so all good!
Family day again today but I'm just about to go run/swim before the day starts
- Can - good food choices - run/swim - enjoy time with family

When it was sleeting, thunder and lightning on Saturday morning, I decided against adding another parkrun to my total! Spent the weekend with my dad his wife and my little brother, so a couple of good walks, time on the park, fish and chips and much laughter. I was shattered by the time they left on Sunday afternoon. Up for a run this morning - 4 miles done.
Plan for this week is: Mon run - DONE Tues gym Weds swim or run Thurs PT session Fri gym or run Sat cycle

Wow Coachy- what a fab result, I wish I could be more focused on my food intake.
I recognise your little ugly fiend feckers FRU, they need to go!
I'm working from home today and that has led to mooching in the kitchen rather than actually doing what I should be doing. I've still to run and I'll be swimming tonight so today I can :
*run for half an hour *go to the club swim *eat within my MFP allowance
