Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

According to Wikipedia, Elizabeth Beresford, creator of the Wombles, also went to my old school.

More importantly, they seem to have changed the school name AND the motto. WTAF. No one informed me. I only left 20 years ago.

Had to consult Wikipedia as well but:

Dame Karen Dunnell (National Statistician and Registrar-General)
Carole Goble (prof of computer science at university of Manchester)
Alison Noble (professor at Oxford University)
Lizzy Yarnold (two time gold medalist skeleton racer)
Mia McKenna-Bruce (actress and dancer in ‘The Dumping Ground’)

- the only one of these I knew before looking at Wiki was Lizzy Yarnold!

DeeGee - an Old Maidstonian I take it? I went to MGGS!

My mum was an old school friend of (and remained in good contact with) Miriam Margolyes (actress).

Jack Ashley - left school at 14, ended up at Cambridge university, became a Labour Minister in the 1970s and worked tirelessly for rights for disable people, including things like persuading the BBC to subtitle programmes.

Also, at least 5 Great Britain Rugby League internationals.

Only one I know without checking is Neil Webb, Man Utd & England footballer. He was in the same year as me.

WS - my school's motto is Care, Aspire, Succeed. I think they must have gone to the same poundshop as yours did.
