Hadn't done my strength stuff for a few weeks when I came down with a bit of a chest infection which meant I did nothing for the last couple of weeks. Feeling a bit better now but still coughing a bit so decided that "cardio" probably isn't the best plan and did one of my preset strength sessions this morning, keeping the reps and sets the same but dropping the weights. Enjoyed that, actually, but I suspect I'm going to know about it tomorrow.

Sounds like a good session though. I'm six weeks in to my new workouts and it seems to be going well. I switched from 4 whole body workouts per week to a split routine so now I do... Monday- legs Wednesday- shoulders and biceps Friday- chest and triceps Saturday- back I'm currently happy with the weights I'm lifting for most of my exercises, particularly the deadlifts in my Saturday workout (3 sets of 8 reps at 60kgs so equivalent to my body weight). But I'd like to up my Friday bench press a bit. Currently 3 sets of 15 reps with 30kgs. |

I went up a bit on biceps and shoulder presses today. Just based on what dumbbells were available in the rack! Very scientific! ![]() |

@Ness , if you want to up the weight a little, maybe try a few weeks of making sure bench press is the first exercise and drop the reps to 8-10 but up the weight?

Thanks, @Gooner . Will give that a try. I do make sure they are my first exercise of the Friday workout. I use straps for my working weight and Mr Ness spots for me. Dropping the reps is one thing I hadn't thought of trying.
