weighted 17st 13lb Xmas 2009, decided I need to lose some weight. Joined Slimming world Jan 2010 and have lost 51 lb (3st 9lb) by a mixture of dietary chages and excercise. I was never really one for sports at school but have now been exercising (running mainly) at leat 3 times a week, average 10-15 miles per week, since June 2010. Have recently been diagnosed with ITBS and the Physio is going well. Been out on the bike to maintain fitness but not as often as I'd like because we have recently had a baby boy. Started my recovery running schedule this week which is quite frustrating as I need to start off with short, slow runs and build up from there when all I want to do is keep going!
1 Sept 2011:
Knee is feeling good, a bit sore after longer runs (7miles) but is OK after some RICE and a few days rest. Loving mixing up running with riding. The combination seem to compliment each other well and I have seen improvements to both my running and cycling in the last few months. Running and cycling both use ceratin muscles in quite a limited way so combining both helps avoid only training certain muscles. Thiking about joining a local running/cycling club but not sure yet. I'll probably wait until next season now.
