About Me
I'm a mountain biker who's been riding and racing for the last 23+ years. I've always thought of myself as a cyclist who runs. But have finally began to think of myself as a runner.

I've never managed more than a few months of concentrated running without picking up some sort of injury & in 2012 I lost 6 weeks in the run up to my first marathon (Milton Keynes). My gait has always been shocking, wearing Asics Kayano's with additional orthotics in, so that summer I gave up any plans I had and started running in minimalist shoes (VFFs). My body is still adjusting (read hurting) but I'm enjoying it & my mileage and speed are back up where they were. Its taken some time but it really has worked for me.

Even with my injury I still managed to run over 750 miles in 2012, and the consistency came this year enabling me to log 1000 miles. I've now discovered ultras, first a 50K before somehow PB'ing at the Snowdonia marathon, ducking under 4hrs for the first time. 2014 has added a 45miler, a 50 miler and now I'm leaping into the unknown with a 100miler in August. What have I done?
