Started running back in 2008 as a way of losing weight but in June 08 i damaged my knee whilst running and was informed I had torn my cartilage, to avoid having to go under the knife I decided to rest and hope that time would heal it. Each time I started training again over the next 3 years my knee would come back and haunt me! This year after hitting scales at 14 1/2 stones it was time to start again, as expected the knee caved in after a month of training, however this time the specialist link the problem to my back and now with ice and daily stretching I’m able to run pain free! Over the last 3 months my weight has dropped over 1 1/2 stone and I’m starting to feel good about myself. Now my target is complete a couple of 10K / 10 Miles and ½ marathon and then in 2012 complete my first marathon.
