Hereward Relay, Leg 4
Very pleased with this run - sub 7/m despite mixed terrain. One long stretch with very muddy farm track, but this was flat and had a narrow strip that was generally firm to the edge of it. Where I had problems was c. 2 miles from the end where there was a slight incline along the side of a field and felt like I was skating as almost every footfall had some slippage! Not surprisingly, post race data analysis shows the 8th mile to have been the slowest!!
Overtook 13 people and whilst at least 3 of these were Ultra runners, still very pleased. Taken by none, though there was one guy I spoke to at the end who had me in his sights but ran out of race...
