Kirton Friday 5. A poor run in comparison with the much harder Ipswich course, only 10 seconds faster and a minute down on the guys I finished with last week. I was hoping for a much faster time tonight, but it didn't happen. Maybe I shouldn't have backed off in the first mile, tried to be sensible, but it didn't really work.
On possible reason for the poor run is that I had a couple of beers yesterday, which is something I never do before a race normally. It doesn't sound much, but I react quite badly to alcohol, so should have known better than to have it the day before a race I wanted to do well in.
Anyway, 28:43 and 1st MV55, but only 23rd this week
Split Summary

Another trophy win though John, good show
Great run mate.
Thanks for that Rob, good to see you back racing:-)
Well done John.
johny you alcoholic you ! 2 beers !! chin up mate, great time, and another trophy...
Probably due to suddenly getting back on the bike at a high intensity, your legs arent used to it yet. Still looks a bloody good time to me anyway!
Maybe Bob, but I did the same thing last week and ran really well. Never mind, let's see how it goes tomorrow at HBO, though the weather ain't going to suit me(excuses at the ready!)
