Coventry Way 40 miler
Ran with Carey, which kept me at a slightly slower pace than normal which was great as I just wanted to check how I would do with the Merrel shoes over a long time period. There was very little chopped stone which was good and I didn't get tendon pulling pain under foot arch!
R Knee - felt nothing for first half, then it got a bit tight but nothing problematic, stretched a few times and took a precautionary IBUPRO at about mile 35.
I had back pain and flank pain (under lower front ribs) for weeks before race but I was fine on the day and now two days after race I am still fine.
Post Race Day 1 - very stiff all over in the morning, rather inflexible but warmed up through the day and in v good shape by end of day. Took 1 IBUPRO to help get through Zac's party.
Post Race Day 2 - Calves stiffer than yesterday when waking up, but still not that bad at all. I must have run rather flat on my feet due to speed of run.
