LDWA Boot Bash in Peak District. Beautiful, fantastic day out with Rich and met sooo many great, funny people to run (and walk) with at different stages, particularly the prison wardens and my classic comment "wow, you've got a big one!' which absolutley made his day. I was, of course, refering to his map!! Took 6:44 in all with checkpoints and shop but 6:29 moving time. Great scenery and Rich and I were GREAT with the navigating if I do say so myself!! No getting lost and we even made our own little short cuts which strayed from the 'suggested' route as we were so confident with our map reading and navigating. Three short cuts in all, one with the prison guards, and the other 2 on our own where we also helped another bloke find his way!! Defo feel confident to do something like this again! No route description, just 9 grid references, a suggested route transferred by my good self onto our map prior to the start, and full on ACE navigating. Well done us!!

Had a great first 10M then a tough 10M where we walked rather alot I think and then a cracking 6M to the finish. Sooooo enjoyed it, legs were tired but we persevered and ended up beating all the crowd we had been with and over took more. Loved it

Think we finished about 60th in a field of at least 250 runners and walkers
