Another attempt at the Parkrun, at least I felt much better running there this time, only 2 seconds short of my 5k PB, so I suppose that is not too bad, but thought I might have been quicker.

I thought I was going quicker as well! I really have to put more effort into the last mile.
try getting to a mile to go and then imagining you're doing a mile rep in training. You know it's going to hurt, but just keep driving. It can save you 30 seconds in a race quite easily, and often has for me.
