First parkrun since 2017 went well. 26:22 official
What a day to choose for my parkrun comeback. Peel Park had nearly 800 runners today — many of them here for tomorrow’s Manchester Marathon — and starting in the middle of the pack was hazardous for the first 5 minutes or so as we all tried not to trip over one another’s feet or fall into the Irwell. Probably good for me to start slow though because by halfway round I felt done, and had to walk for about a minute. Got a second wind though - and managed to get round - not with all guns blazing but in a decent time for the first one out. Nice to have a few words with a couple of old running mates. Don’t think they recognised me though - they probably weren’t used to the fat version of me.
