Sportscheck Run Leipzig 5k sub-35 pacer
Rainy afternoon in Leipzig. I was supposed to pace the sub-30 group but there wasn't a flag for that (Diana also ran with a 35 flag but with 0 taped over the 5). So I said that I could pace the sub-35 group. I had several people thanking me for doing this group and I had a lovely chat with a few along the course. Garmin did a fairly good job for the first 2km but then inside the high rise buildings, erratic pace threw me off a bit so I went with the official course markers. At 2k, I was 15 seconds ahead of schedule, at 3k, 8 sec behind and then bang on 28:00 at the 4km mark. The group who ran with me got faster towards the end so I let them all pass as they sprinted to the line and finished in 34:46 behind them. Still a bit ahead of my goal of 34:55 but good enough for a first attempt and a sudden change in goal time.
