Notes & Comments
Great Scottish Run: First half marathon - porridge and banana for breakfast; cereal bar and lucozade on train; 500ml milk pre race; cold and cloudy day; congestion in the beginning and lots of uphill were factors in slowing pace; felt good up to 5miles,later stich and right thigh (pulled muscle area) issues; drank water at every water station, lucozade sport from one (no drink carried); very tough last couple of miles, exhausted and stiffness setting in; completed race non-stop and faster than expected

post-race, banana and jaffa cakes, a coke (cheese ploughmans and lucozade on train back home); recovery time was long, lactic acid (?), both legs very painful, walked a lot and stretched; aches lasted all day, diminishing in strength but keenly felt. Amazing experience, very pleased with self
