Notes & Comments
Well what a day! My first half marathon and longest ever run to date and it was fab. The atmosphere and the support of the GNR was much more than I ever imagined it would be. Yes there were walkers who got in the way, yes some people probably didn't start in the correct pen, but the feeling of running in something so huge was brilliant. I started off by losing my phone right before the start which was a disaster since I was running alone and needed it to contact my OH at the end. But the race itself went well. Felt great up till 6 miles when I got a stitch, managed to breathe it out though and felt good again until around mile 10 when the legs got very tired. I managed to have a bit of a second wind from mile 12 until the end and even managed a bit of a sprint finish!! I'm pleased with my time considering the crowds. Ache a lot today and felt quite bad immediately after but this does not wipe the grin off my face one little bit!!
