Seagrave Wolds Challenge - do love this event and the weather was beautiful this year too. Started with Mike and had a natter as we took it easy heading off. Lots of mud and slipping once we were in the fields and lots of inclines to get the heart rate going. Great scenery and nice to have a chat running in the sun. Dropped back occassionally on some inclines but soon caught him back up again on the flats and downs. Great 10min stop at the first CP (mile 7) where the array of homemade cakes was overwhelming
Wrapped up a chocolate brownie in Mikes bum bag for after as it was too early to face snacks, although did manage the most delicious piece of flapjack I have ever tasted! So much so that I got chatting with a couple of other blokes who totally agreed with my flapjack reviews
Headed back out again with Mike but after a mile the flapjack was telling and I walked part of the inclines which followed whilst Mike pressed on. Then had a great few miles with Alison, Laura and one other from Barrow Runners where we whiled away the miles talking about Daniel Craig, chocolate and running
At CP 4 I reconviened with Mike as I'd caught him up and we ran together for a bit. As before he pulled away on what were now hills and I caught him on the flats and downs. Ran/walked the last mile and half together to the finish where Rich was waiting with the camera
A great day. So pleased with how I fared over the distance. Official time 3:07 which includes all the CP stops. Running time 2:57.
