Marathon Pace Run (1m easy, 5m aiming for 6.30 pace, 2m easy)
Right achilles tight when starting. Walked to warm up. Very windy.

Started easy and achilles was uncomfortable from the start. Decided as I have physio this afternoon I would go for the planned run and had plenty of options to shorten if needed.

Mile 2 was partly in to a strong headwind and mainly uphill, so slower than planned pace, but expected. Miles 3 & 4 were with a tailwind so naturally faster. Had a quick stop in mile 4 to move a box off the main road. Effort was varying with the gradients but mostly these two miles felt comfortable and were faster than planned.

Miles 5 & 6 were in to a headwind and a bit more lumpy on Queens Road and up to the ring road. These felt comfortable again. Achilles was uncomfortable throughout but I did have another gear or two if I needed to push on. Headwind was tough in places and did raise effort when straight in to it.

Ave pace for 5 miles - 6.30 (4m taking out first mile = 6.27)

Easier miles were actually quite tough as I was trying to back off the effort, but coming up Welford Road in to a block headwind. Achilles and right foot also started to lose a bit of movement and flexibility at this point and I found I was dragging it a little up the steeper hill by Occupational Health.

Overall a pleasing run from a pace perspective, but a little worried I will be fighting my achilles at London.
