Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

Notes & Comments

Started far too fast 4.09 (eh?) although it was downhill I think I just got sucked in. As usual. Gasped a bit but settled on about 4.40 pace which was what I needed. 5th K was a bit of a bummer as it involved a quagmire plus granite chips and a 180 degree turn. Felt a bit knckered after negotiating that. Dropped off again to about 4.55s although I wasn't feeling terrible. I just couldn't up the pace for some reason. Once I got back on the tarmac I felt much better and springier and I passed a few peeps who obviously didn't take it too well and closed up again as we climbed a tricky wee hill at the end. The finish was a bit of a farce what with a narrow entrance to the school and a complete turn 20 yards from the finish which was jammed with runners so you couldn't cross the line. All in all, I suppose it was a not bad first outing of the year. i'm miles ahead of last year (53.03 for the same race) and I reckon this training will eventually pay off. I think I need to do some strength work.
