Run > Race

Bristol open 1500m at Kip Keino Stadium. The conditions were good, a little warm and sunny with a small breeze. I felt relatively good warming up and waiting for my race (apart from being nervous of my first of the session). There were 14 of us and I finished 10th (with last guy coming in at 4.34 and first in 4.10). I felt quite flat running and the first lap in 68 felt OK but I immediately started to lag (I was at the back of the pack for the first 400m then they pulled away). The middle section was the slowest and is what I need to work on the most, but I had quite a strong finish. Mum and dad came up to watch! It's the first time they have watched me race on the track and at all for many years! Eunice did the 1500m too for the first time and really well, clocking 6.35 (which is relatively much better than her mile time trial a few months ago).
