Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,

Notes & Comments

Perfect running condition, cold but clear to start with rain at about 16 miles which lifted and then the sun came out for the finish. The conjected start wasn't as bad as I expected and managed only to be 10 secs off pace. First 11 miles was a bit scary as I was getting a pain on the outside of my left knee which got progressively worse on any slight up hill. This seemed to vanish soon after tower bridge. It was probably down to not be able to warm up. my pace was pretty even up to 30 km building to a 2 minute buffer. my garmin was next to useless as it was long on the distance and it lost signal in the underpass. Stupidly I didn't disengage the autostop function so the stop watch also stopped in the underpass. This meant I had no watch for the last few miles. In contrast to Rome my quads were not a problem. I put this down to the weather, taking on lots of fluids from the beginning and a better taper. I felt strong throughout and never lost running form.
5 km 0:22:30, 10 km 0:44:56, 15 km 1:07:42, 20 km 1:30:41, half 1:35:48, 25 km 1:53:41, 30 km 2:16:49, 35 km 2:40:25, 40 km 3:04:12, finish 3:14:31
