Dubois Comedy of errors this morning. Planned on running to the start line but found Wimbledon Park gates locked so had to detour and charge up the hill like a loony instead of the gentle warm up envisaged. Was still a couple of minutes away when I saw the rest of the field start off. Very muddy in parts due to the morning rain, but it's always a pleasure to run on the Common and I will be back (and on time) soon. Watch time recorded because of tardiness... Gobi Thought I would check this out so RachE and I drove up. Once more straight off the night shift. One day I will run a 5K fresh and tapered. Result : second place and possibly the realisation that had I made a little more effort to stay with the leaders I could have won as I moved through the field from 6th to 2nd on the 2nd lap. Finished very strong although unlikely I could run much under 18 mins here. Conditions were muddy under foot and I was glad to wear my Swoops. That aside a calm/mild day. Not a PB course given the surface is largely off road but a good day out all the same. Cannock & Stafford AC 16:16 17:02 18:22 71.57

Rach E Conditions made this SLOW!! But more like a XC course and spikes would have been better than trail shoes for most of it. Had a very enjoyable race and great to meet BooBoo, Aldershot, Farnham & District AC, Team Kennet, Newbury Velo 17:52 17:59 20:20 72.46
