Alex Patton $10/95. A really good race, and the first one in a while where I feel like I performed to my potential. 5:39 faster than last year too, although the conditions might have been a fraction faster. Felt like I might have overcooked it slightly on the first lap (which I did in 31:30 - only 15 seconds slower than my Gibb 1 lap time from October) but the endurance is coming now. Was sitting in 12th at halfway and I took one guy on the steep downhill, although I paid for it by taking a tumble. Took a second at the end of Happy Valley but I could see I had 3/4 people, including a club mate close behind. This was where I put the hammer down and I actually felt pretty good for the rest of the lap, pulling away from the group and closing on the HHH chap in front all the way to the finish. The second lap took 31:47. The only downsides were just slightly feeling the ITB go during the second lap, and we missed out on the team prize by only closing 3 runners (6th, 10th, 14th).
