Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

It would have been great to see the nest itself, DT, they're pretty special!

Went to Keyhaven today, a bit blowier and chillier than I was expecting.
Relatively empty - seems like most of the 1000s of wintering geese and 'ducks' have moved on, as have the spoonbills (or I missed them).
100s of avocets though.

I have just over 700 pics to sort through before blogging!

Any cuckoo DT?

Today was last day in the Lakes and got around a bit. The results of the final day of the WW cuckoo survey are:

Binsey: 2
Buttermere: 1
Whinlatter: 2

That’s on top of all the others I’ve heard this week. Really chuffed.

Lots of pics of them on Staines Moor, will try and get there in the next few days.

Anyway, you’ll be pleased to know that’s definitely it.

Not the best photo. Looks like our local swans have a healthy 7 or 8 cygnets this year. Couldn't quite count the exact number of heads.
