Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch
or for an ad-free Fetcheveryone experience!

since I saw this thread, I've been chatting with Deepseek about my training (and not following at all, but for interest's sake and planning the race). My race is in three weeks, today it came out with this nugget of inspiration:

Mantras: “The knee is temporary; the finish line is forever.”

I reckon fetchies are better at motivating than that chattyG speech
Having said that, I've been asking chattyG to do a lot of things for me recently and it's really improved its humanness since I first started using it. Nothing wrong with a bit of encouragement from any source, just that speech needs a suitable musical soundtrack for the full experience :)

@Llamadance that sounds like your knee is going to fall off straight after your race!

Also it's factually incorrect, the finish line is definitely temporary as it's only a chip timing mat which will be removed, whereas hopefully your knee has a bit more longevity :)

About This Thread

Maintained by SilentTim
Wondering if anyone else uses chatgpt to bounce training ideas off?

For my training plan for Manchester Marathon, I took Hal Higdons 18 week intermediate plan, threw it at chatgpt and asked it to help me make some adjustments.

I've since been talking to chatgpt daily about how my runs went, pacing advice, little pep talks here and there.

It's surprisingly good. Does anyone else do this, or am I just outing myself as a weirdo?!
