Oscar's Everyone Day
Sunday 23rd June 2024In 2021 Oscar the Grouch proposed one day each year where "we unite as a community and EVERYONE records an activity of some sort - a dog walk, a run, a swim, a ride, ski if you want...".
Sadly we lost Oscar in March, so I'd like to dedicate Everyone Day to him. Thank you for the inspiration you gave us Oscar.

I wanted to run a marathon one day, so (once all my exams were all out of the way) I did.
I enjoyed it, so I thought I would run another one, but it was much harder working up the enthusiasm, so I didn't. So I contented myself with a half marathon every so often (could I run one at 40?, at 45?, even at 50?). Well I managed it at 50 and thought that will do. Well there's a 10 mile run near home, so perhaps just one more race then stop? So I went to the 10 miler and there I came across a familiar caterpillar, a multi-marathon plodding hippo, a wascally wabbit and the legendary mick'n'phil. I asked them why have you all got Fetch printed on your shirts and they told me about this great website where I read about them all and their fantastic exploits. So inspired by you all I decided to do some more runs and even got as far as running a second marathon (nearly 20 years after the first) and finally achieved my original sub 4 hour target.
