How do you charge a seagull? Just put it on their bill.

The gulls in the picture where the residents no longer get post delivered are some of the bad boys that terrorise me: dailypost.co.uk

And we're off. The first of our local nests have chicks. Had a couple of warning attacks, but the first full on joint male and female double swooping attack this morning.

Quite scary as just up the road a couple of greater black backed gulls are nesting and they are massive!

Still, despite it being quite scary, I an still full of sneaky admiration as to how far they go to protect their chicks.

Wriggling Snake
That's nothing, I have Sparrows nesting behind my gutters, not even cockney Sparrows, northern ones, you might think Pah!, but the chicks have just fledged and one of them shat on my washing.

Loving Nico's suggestion (I realise this is from a year ago) to carry a tennis racket. I would definitely do that.

Yup, sorting the cupboards out again. Rabbit ears, tennis raquet, eyes on cap, running backwards, flapping like a crow etc...

Not sure what it'll do for my times, although I did have a bit of sprint towards safety and my house this morning!

Bit later this year, but the young are now about. Had a full on attack yesterday where our local mum pecked my head on a flypast. This morning was the worst, got mobbed by about 10 of them, all coming in for the kill, first blood drawn of the year on my head.

I used to regularly get dive bombed on my way to work at this time of year. A couple of weeks ago I was swooped at by a crow on my way to the pub, quite scary

Got something to say?
