What do "run benchmarks" mean in the Best Race Analysis?

As per title I suppose - I can get my head around all of the other bits of info, but the "run benchmarks" leaves me scratching my head! Other than it looking like a nice steady graph of bars which I could imagine walking up, what does it mean?

It looks at all your training in the X weeks before the race, and looks for your fast 1 mile, 2 mile, 3 mile etc times.

Cheers Fetch - but what do the numbers actually mean? e.g. my graph for the analysis prior to yesterdays race shows 2=14(13.46), 4=28(27.45), 6=42(41.43) up to 12=83(83.27). They aren't my WAVA grades for those paces, are they? I've scored 104 on another race, and I definitely am not better than a world champion!!

(I presume this is just me being dumb!)

I can see the separate benchmark's page, and I understand that - its the graph showing on the best race analysis page that I can't get my head around!

Edit - so it is the cumulative time (in minutes) for those distances, shown as a graph! Aha, the penny drops!

I thought it was how many benches you have run past?

It would make it easy to plug your numbers into a Tanda marathon pace predictor.

Got something to say?
