eL Bee!
Some outside-of-knee issues can be sorted with a slight tweak of cleat position, and seat height, Glenn!

Probably the latter eL Bee!, there's a lot of play in my SPD cleats.

The OS of knee issues come from an unconscious in-turn of the foot near the bottom of the pedal stroke while still under load.
It's often (but not always) seen when the saddle is a touch high and you are 'reaching' for the bottom of the pedal stroke.
You see the same thing with runners who dorsiflex to force a forefoot landing - foot turns in and creates the slight twist at the knee.
Funnily enough - it causes OS of knee/ITB issues in runners too!!

You do get the same effect with riding with your knees pointed out rather than forward - you know, the position adopted by those with no space between their legs because they have elephant testicles ;)

So you're advising me to keep my knees together? ;)
