Alopex Attempting sub 1:45 in my favourite city.......

.....finished in 01:43:27. Thoroughly enjoyed the race up to the last 2K which were hard work. Set unofficial PBs for 10m & ran the second 10K in 45m, another 'PB'. 12 of us travelled to Prague, 6 running. All were pleased with their efforts, but I was particularly proud of my Dad, 60, who last ran this sort of distance 25 years ago & was recently diagnosed with COPD (a debilitating lung condition) but completed the run without stopping or walking.

We had 2 full days in glorious sunshine to enjoy the sights & ensure we were fully hydrated. Likely to be back next year - possibly for the full one, & looking for another international event, ideally in central or Eastern Europe. UKnetrunner 1:37:00 1:38:51 1:44:59 1:43:27 56.78

jolguk It was a fantastic race (and not just because I got a PB by well over 2 minutes), and a fantastic weekend in Prague. The race started badly as I realised I'd forgotten to put my watch on (and had actually left my shoes in England, but fortunately my mate came to the rescue there), so I ran with my husband who did have a watch, but he was taking it very slowly so I left him in frustration. I was unacceptably rude to him after discovering in disgust we'd taken nearly 28 minutes to do 5k... so I blundered on against the wind, blindly ,without a watch and with little idea of the distance, even, as it's only marked in kilometres.... and somehow struggled to the end, with hubby overtaking me as we finished. But running over Charles bridge, the bands, the two big teams of supporters from our club, all the help from Running Crazy, the beer afterwards, brilliant, brilliant, brilliant ! Even the cobbles didn't seem too bad. Dragons RC 1:35:07 1:37:49 1:37:49 66.19
Treacle This felt pretty tough with all the training miles in my legs and the niggly knee, but apart from a few nasty cobbles was a fast, flat course, and woohoo, another shiny new PB! Could have pushed it faster, but the idea was to do this at close to mara pace, so was just slightly faster than planned.
Fairly pleased considering was very windy, knee still painful and had run 18 miler only 5 days before! Unaffiliated 1:57:52 2:16:41 2:16:41 47.79
wozzlehunter what a fantastic city, really enjoyed the race with all my tactics coming good, a pb by 2 secs, woo hoo.

Yazoo My first PB in nearly a year! Course was a 'bit' easier than last year although there are still lots of cobbles and tram lines on the route which don't make it easy!

Took it fairly easy and only really pushed it in the last 3k or so when I realised a PB was on - didn't want to let those people down who had bet on me.

Was pretty windy and cold by the end but the support of the guys from work kept me going... Runnymede Runners 1:17:55 1:17:57 1:18:00 1:18:32 74.04
