Ally2 The start was fast with an immediate break of 5 runners with hallam at the front. I was 5th at the end of lap 1, thinking I'm not running shit but having to work to keep on the back of the front 4. Quarter way round the 2nd lap I made my way past ed, danny and paul but stabler was pulling away. Tried to bridge the gap but at the end kf the 2nd lap I was struggling but still pullimg away from the 3owls guys behind. On the 3rd lap sam was over 15 secs ahead and I couldnt see myself getting back. I did rally and felt better but I was safe in 2nd. The course was tough with mud, long climbs and sharp turns. Feet are mashed which is a bit worrying. I gave it a good title defence but sam was hot today. Notts AC, Hermitage Harriers RC 36:26 69.66
