chucky 2nd ever marathon- why did i choose the hilly off road one in summer??? in good shape, so may run well.-update- well, that was blimming hard. suffered with stitch at 12mile, calves cramped badly at 17ish, and basically walked from there. probably screwed up with my breakfast which meant i tired far too early, but good fun! Capricorn A tough race - lots of big hills and quite uneven surface at times. Lost about 8 minutes taking a wrong turn - but that was purely due to chatting away too much and blindly following the runners ahead who'd also missed the turn !!! The course was in fact very well marked and there were plenty of water stations - with water and sports drink. There were a couple of heavy downpours at times, but overall the weather was good.
