beders great race, died on the tops after a too fast start uphill (plus going out for a meal the night before) made up some ground on the downhill section, despite taking a tumble and 2 bloodied knees, then lost ground again on the last mile or so uphill slog to the finish. pretty happy with nearly 4 minutes off last years time, plenty of mud and bog. really will have to work on my uphill running. emmilou Felt really rubbish all the way round, in agony with an horrendous stitch - just couldn't go any faster and have never wanted to stop and jack in more than today :-( Ankle a mess - injured from wednesday but felt every step. SO all in all not very good! BUT, the race was very well organised, well attended, fab atmosphere, course was great - even if it meant dodging tourists with the walking poles and dogs!! and the curly wurly - BRILLIANT!! :-) Lostock AC 1:08:21 49.66
XB A great race. Start off nice and steady the start to climb, getting muddier and wetter. I lost a shoe near the tops. Very boggy flat bit along the tops - great fun, then knee jarring paved downhill. Tough last couple of miles. Ribble Valley Runners 57:02 1:25:45 37.41
