APC Slower than I hoped for. Considering the recent injury enforced lack of training, not a bad time. Too warm for me though. 70 seconds plus better than last Yr. Unaffiliated 39:44 40:48 40:48 67.15

Cormorant Nice race, and dangerous proof that you can run a 10K on hardly any training. It felt hot out there and I was glad of the shower after Old Trafford. Forgot to tie on my chip, like an idiot, so this time is from my watch. Cranleigh Tortoise & Hare Runners 44:56 47:29 47:00 48:18 61.51

Ehlne Any other casualties in this race...? I got elbowed and tripped up by some pushy guy after about 2k. I cried out in pain as both knees cruised along the hot gravel but he didn't even look round - obviously too set on getting that PB. Hobbled through the rest of the race and was relieved to get back in once piece in under 1 hour. :( To all those macho guys looking for your 10k PB, please do the sensible and considerate thing and steer clear of the Great Manchester Run. Choose a small race for everyone else's sake. Manchester Harriers & AC 50:57 56:17 49:49 56:17 53.38

jolguk I wouldn't bet on me. I haven't felt very fit since a few weeks before FLM, to be honest!

UPDATE - Oh well, not too bad. A long way off my PB, but I hadn't expected much, and - just - achieved my 45 minute target for today. It was way too hot for me, too. The crowd support was much better than I expected, actually, although the changes in the course I think make it slightly harder than when I did it a couple of years ago. Luiz Wasn't impressed with this. Ran in the last wave with mum, and must have lost 5 minutes weaving through the hoards of walkers from this wave and the wave infront. Good atmosphere though, but wouldn't pay £30 to do it again! Unaffiliated 57:30 57:50 1:10:00 1:03:40 46.68

now andyk2708 DO NOT BET ON ME.
Struggling to regain fitness, after injury and picking up a chest infection (again). Haven't done any serious running since the Marathon on the 01st April and the 10k in Dublin a fortnight later was a nightmare. Not looking forward to this...

**UPDATE***
Pleased with this run, had to stop at 5k to use my inhaler, but I expected this, as my cardio level is quite poor, due to lack of training. No pain in the legs, for the first time since Feb!! Happy days..

Obigone 2nd year for this one and I'm hoping for a P.B.! Last year was really difficult due to dodging the vast numbers of runners who insisted on starting at the front, only to find themselves walking after 1km!!!**UPDATE** Happy to break my P.B. here. Once again the start was very congested with the resulting dodging about! Weather was a big let down with showers and overcast conditions promised, only to turn out clear skies and bright(hot!) sunshine! Actually I felt good all the way round and if the weather wasn't so hot I would have PB'd even better! Stockport Harriers & AC 40:21 43:37 46:00 45:07 64.76
