Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

Thanks,
Ian Williams aka Fetch

OH dropped out of this race 10 minutes before the start!! Was hoping to use him a a pacemaker! Despite that, the training had gone really well so don't know what happened to the time. Oh says my weak hip muscles are restricting my stride length so I've reached the point where I won't be able to improve my race times. Not sure about that myself. Did enjoy the atmosphere of the race though :)
CrazyLegs
Very well organised race it's just a shame about the dodgy course! It was a pity that more people hadn't come to watch the runners. Good beginners run.
Lincsfella
whoa..... a pb where did that come from. not a bad event nicely organised and a lady mayor at the end to give the medals. and a finishing position of around 75th.
Fat Man Runs
This race has fantastic organisation and atmosphere pity it's let down by such a dog of a course (albeit the final k is better).

I've had enough of running around decidedly dodgy housing estates and all the undulations of going under those underpasses.

Tamworth Heart Runners do a great job, it's just let down by the town - I know they can't help it but it kind of turns you off going again!
NathT
First ever 10K run. Was pleased with time, need to start training hard for the half marathon in silverstone
Jam
My first race, really enjoyed it. Bit crowded at the start but I think that stopped me running to fast for the first couple of K's. Definitely be back for this one next year.
Pinchi
A well organised race, and I thought the course was an improvement on the previous couple of years - although I did miss the burnt out car. Finish through the town centre was good. Hello to the fellow Fetchie who spotted me at about 2k - struggling to breathe at the time, so hadn't much to say - sorry! Nice medal and goody bag - kids loved the space blanket! Time about where I guessed having not been able to train properly for 3 weeks through illness.
JAH
Great race. Some of the paths a bit crowded, but didn't seem to slow me down too much. Garmin measured it as a bit over 10k, so I had thought I was on target for sub-50. (Time for Garmin 10k: 49:34). Enjoyed the race, even though the leader passed me heading back to the finish when I had only done just over 3km!! Maybe next time I can get under that 50min barrier!
Neil Oldfield
Much better route than last year, only prob was the start isnt big enough for all the people that enter, so the first Km or so was really slow, still managed a PB though. The finish through the town was good as well. Very well organised, just not the most scenic of runs. After last year, really didnt think Id enjoy this or run well...wrong on both counts!!!
taulpaul
Third year of running this race and still as good as ever. It doesnt seem to matter that its not at all scenic as long as its well organised with a great medal. Not a great time for me but i haven't done much training so it was to be expected really. A good first race of the year.
Official position 180 from 1034 runners
Greenman
Due to hamstring problems, this one was a jog out just to see how things went. No real reaction from the muscle so hopefully will be fit enough for Bury 20 next weekend.
ChickenLegs
Good first 10k race of the season hope to add many more soon, might do the Fradley 10k next.
phal
Enjoyed that run, but thought my legs were going to drop off after the first 2k! Went out a little too fast!!! Pleased though as a new PB :o) Pinchi - that was me who spotted you :o) As I said - in a fetch t-shirt you're hard to miss :o)
Supernova48
Start of the race was very cramped and could not get going had to wait till a third into the race. The finish was good through the town centre and into castle grounds.Great medal and chip was good idea. Will do it again next year.Got a PB!!!
Alopex
Hurrah for start to finish chip timing.

SimH
Good race but strange lack of any sort of support
