Go-KL The running was still going to plan and I felt good enough to enter this local run with my brother, who was visiting for the weekend and beat me comfortably with some impressive final miles. This was a bitterly cold race - it never got near freezing and was very nearly called off. I struggled to breathe properly in the cold and it was only in the final miles that I was able to pick up the pace. The relative lack of pace made me realize that I had done enough training to build a base, I now needed some speedwork. Fortunately I met some former clubmates who I hadn't seen for a couple of years since I hadn't been running properly, and I decided then to rejoin them and things picked up.
