Sunbed Athlete Terrible conditions with heavy rain & blustery winds to greet us as we ran along the Clyde Canal Tow path.
Slowest 10k for a while as i'm running with a stomach strain.Trying to run it off as i had same injury lasy year & managed to run it off.Small paths on both sides of the Canal made it hard to pass people & it was also flooded at some parts. ChrisU Quite pleased with time and performance given how windy it was. Sheltered in a group from about 3 to 7 kilometres to get wind protection, then upped the pace for the final 3km. Cambuslang Harriers, Westerlands Cross Country Club, Scottish Veteran Harriers Club 34:38 34:38 36:26 77.00

JulesR No scary fast times today in the rain, wind and mud. Enjoyed it lots, but it was hard work battling down the back straight tucked in behind anyone available. Changing room afterwards looked like a battlefield with most of the canal towpath in the showers. Met my first Fetchies Tigger, Haggis and Magoo so that was good - just need another 5677 for the set! shannon quite plsed with run today, 20secs quicker than last year in quite wet n windy conditions but effort wasn't always at the max. still feeling heavy but much quicker than last week. good race, well supported, thanks to the SH. Garscube Harriers 38:35 41:05 41:20 63.87

Haggis Sorry to those who bet on me, conditions were a bit on the poor side!

A great course, well run, and well worth a 300 mile round trip!

Not too upset with a time that was only 28 secs outwith my PB, here's looking forward to the next race, hopefully with better conditions.

Will I be back next year - you bet! Forfar Road Runners 46:01 46:01 48:00 49:15 59.32
Debstir 57:01 to beat from last year, but not holding out much hope... Update. Don't ask cos I haven't a clue. Can only put it down to a fluke. Really muddy and slippy at bits, feet got so soaked that I ended up not even trying to pretend to avoid the puddles. Absolutely chucking down and blowing a gale - right in to us for most of the race. Still a very good turn-out but if I want a goody bag next year I'll need to improve by about 10 minutes :-) Unaffiliated 48:30 49:48 57:30 54:30 54.97
Hibeedeb I guess this was the first and last time anyone will bet on me! :((

Sorry to those who bet on me - I felt like I was running well, but the horrendous wind just about blew me to a standstill on the far side of the canal, and that squishy mud on the rest of the course was tough too. Those are my excuses.... Pirate Ship Of Fools 50:32 54:30 54:00 56:54 57.92
