Hi ,
It looks like you're using an ad blocker.

The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free. But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient. Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead. Did you know that you can allow ads for specific sites, whilst still blocking them on others?

This event is listed on these dates:

5th Marathon (incs Ultras) / 3rd Duchy M. I have to do the local marathons, there's only 2 in Cornwall, this one is only 16 miles away. I have tried to support as many races as possible since I started running, I was quite shocked at how few locals and runners from Cornwall were entering these events - and some have folded through lack of support, Duchy was nearly one of them - and it is one of the longest running marathons in the country. This year, amazingly, Hayle ladies had a team - Lize (me) Anne C & Sue R, so things were looking up .... by chance the other nearest local club, Carn Runners, also had a ladies team, so the organisers made sure there was 1st and 2nd trophies - to encourage us!!! This was a PB on the day - my first time under 5 hrs (although my Marathon point time at the Dartmoor Discovery 99 had been 4:55).

I'd tightened up after mile 22, oh no!! ... and had walked quite a lot ... then got going again ... I was so desperate to get under 5 hrs
