Nina Really looking forward to this although I don't think I'm any faster than last year. Hope it cool, rainy and breezy!!
Update: Absolutely awful run for me. Felt dreadful from the word go, stomach cramps until mile 10, got blister on big toe at mile 8 and right calf muscle stiffened at mile 15! Added to the rather warm temperature, I'm really happy that I finished at all! Having said that, the organisation was fantastic with tons of welcome water stations and friendly marshalls. Ran most of it alone which was difficult at times but the route was beautiful although more undulating than expected. With my target out of the window by about mile 12, I slowed down, relaxed and enjoyed the run. The family met me at regular intervals with supplies and they seemed to enjoy themselves cheering everyone else on, they were certainly appreciated by a lot of runners since supporters were few and far between.
I don't know if I would do anything different to prepare, I think I did everything right and was running very well up to my taper. I just had bad luck and an off day. My shoes were well broken in and I have NEVER had a blister with them! Re: stomach cramps, only thing I can think of is that I had a banana about half an hour before the race which maybe didn't sit in my stomach very well and also I hadn't accustomed myself to the Lucozade Sport enough.
Oh well, here's to the next one......

Ultracat Will only go for a PB if its a cool day, if its hot will go for 4.45.

Well organised marathon with water stations about every 2 miles. Sunny and windy day. Two fairly tough hills, one steep and one not so steep but long. Lovely course which was mostly rural with fantastic views of the coast for some of it. A RAF helicopter gave us a fantastic send off at the start as it hovered over Elgin Catheral. A PB.
