The revenue generated from the adverts on the site is a critical part of our funding - and it's because of these ads that I can offer the site for free.
But using the site for free AND blocking the ads doesn't feel like a great thing to do, which is why this box is so large and inconvenient.
Some sites will completely block your access, but I'm not doing that - I'm appealing to your good nature instead.

This is my best result in recent years, yet it was HOT and I remember drinking and dripping all the way round, but never losing my ooomph. My training must have been QUALITY as it certainly wasn't QUANTITY. I'd had a Run-Walk marathon at Tresco in April, due to stomach problems, then the usual An Resek Hellys (10 mile multi-terrain) a week later and I'd cycled there (Helston is 13 miles away, so total of 26 miles). For some reason I then did nothing for 3 whole weeks!! Realising that Dartmoor was now just 3 wks away - what could I do? I decided I had to do a LONG run, but thought I couldn't or shouldn't just go off and do 20+ miles. So I ran a very hilly 10 miles and repeated that on the next two days (fast walking most of the third day). All three days were HOT and I had gone out intentionally in the middle of the day. I was aching and creaking and moaning at the end of the third day - but the training worked!!
