Hollywoof! This was one hard race. It started at >30 degrees C and ended in a thunderstorm at 10 degrees - very, very soggy! The lake was warm so wetsuits weren't allowed. Then the competition was hot (what do you expect at the European Championships - duh!) so I was much further back than normal! And then I also had goggle problems :-( Then the cycle was HILLY! 700m of climbing is a lot! And it was 46km rather than 40km! And some of the potholes were crater size! And the descents were scary! And I was lucky to survive the water bottle falling off! But it was still interesting as a challenge! And then the run wasn't too flat either - 200m of climbing! And how the heck did it work out as 11.11 km? But I wore the GB kit with pride, I smiled throughout and I FINISHED and officially I came 125th in my age group in Europe :-) And that is a long long way from last!
