paskha Yes, I was hoping for a good time - have never got a sub-5 hr time on this course yet! It is a beautiful course over Bodmin Moor - and is the closest in scenery to Dartmoor. This year it was a lovely sunny day, but COLD. I was wearing a new pair of running shoes that were too big .... and I'd fallen over at home and cracked my ribs (well if I hadn't actually, it sure felt like it) on a low solid table just 4 days before. The doc said I could take ibuprofen AND co-dydromol for the race, but something weird happened. It still hurt - and then I started tightening, cramping up, inner thighs, I COULD NOT RUN from about mile 20, every time I tried, I just seized up. Someone said it was the cold air. I've never been like that and I hadn't run too fast earlier. I had all these people come past me in the last few miles, even the last mile is an easy gentle downhill, still I had to WALK!!
