ITG 🇮🇸 Those hills are a lot more numerous and a lot steeper than they looked in the car! A very, very tough first marathon - and I swear that it will be my last.
Huge shout to the other runners at the back; the peer-to-peer support was outstanding! We might all have been in agony but everyone tried to jolly each other along and the atmosphere was really positive. The crowds were also fab: I came in at 5 hours and people were still there, shouting my name and making me feel like I was really achieving something (even if over 2000 people had already crossed the line).
Made over 500 quid for Macmillan too :) Unaffiliated 3:55:59 5:00:47 5:00:00 5:00:47 44.71

Tiny Runner Ran the first mile in 6'05... First few miles are downhill but there are some wee climbs thrown in. The descents after this are all too steep to make time on and completely destroy your quads. This was my sixth marathon and I have never been in so much pain within 8 miles of starting!

HOWEVER, I ran this as my first marathon in 2008 and the ups and downs didn't bother me so much. If you want to run under 4 hours this course is brutal, if you're happy with 4 this is a fun and beautiful course.

If you're around the 3, 3.15 mark expect the course to add about 12 minutes to your time.

The risotto at the end was awesome! Fife AC 2:58:07 3:18:53 3:18:53 67.36
