april_runner It's actually spelt RamsEy but since you've all put yourselves here thought I'd join you ;) ....

This was my first 10k (probably the furthest I've ever run in a competitive race, it must be said) and it went really well. I wasn't really sure whether I'd be able to do it under an hour, but happily I did better than expected. I'd had three days of rest before today, and I think that helped a lot.

I positioned myself in the middle third for the start, but still went out a little faster than I had planned - but it was ok, I was watching my pace so that I didn't burn out too early. It's so weird knowing that I am going fast for me, but looking ahead and feeling that I am so far behind others!

It was a windy day.

Splits: 5:00, 05:13, 05:12, 05:10, 05:26, 05:25, 05:39, 05:39, 05:42 & 04:21 Cambridge & Coleridge AC 38:55 49:54 1:00:00 52:37 56.48

tramps Rural course - approx 3K of public tarmac roads, private traffic-free compacted hardcore and concrete roads, also a grass drove.

Fairly flat and could've offered fast times, but it was incredibly windy on the exposed course. Saffron Striders RC 39:30 39:30 45:00 41:45 64.38
